Birth & Early Life (जन्म र प्रारम्भिक जीवन)
His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, Founder-Acharya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), was born Abhay Charan De on 1 September 1896, in Calcutta.
इस्कोन (अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय कृष्णभावनामृत संघ) का संस्थापक-आचार्य श्रील ए.सी. भक्तिवेदान्त स्वामी प्रभुपादको जन्म अभय चरण डे नामले १ सेप्टेम्बर १८९६ मा कलकत्तामा भएको थियो।
Spiritual Initiation (आध्यात्मिक दीक्षा)
In 1922, he met his spiritual master, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura, who encouraged him to share Vedic knowledge with the English-speaking world. He formally accepted initiation in 1933, in Allahabad.
सन् १९२२ मा उहाँले आफ्ना आध्यात्मिक गुरु श्रील भक्तिसिद्धान्त सरस्वती ठाकुरसँग भेट गर्नुभयो, जसले उहाँलाई वैदिक ज्ञान अंग्रेजी भाषा-भाषी संसारसम्म पुर्याउन प्रोत्साहन गर्नुभयो। सन् १९३३ मा उहाँले इलाहाबादमा औपचारिक रूपमा दीक्षा ग्रहण गर्नुभयो।
Core Mission (मुख्य लक्ष्य)
His life's mission was to expound the Vedic conclusion that real freedom means liberation from the miseries of material life — birth, death, old age and disease — through the process of Krishna consciousness.
उहाँको जीवनको मुख्य लक्ष्य वैदिक निष्कर्ष— जन्म, मृत्यु, बुढेसकाल र रोगका कष्टबाट मुक्ति नै वास्तविक स्वतन्त्रता हो भन्ने कुरा— कृष्णभावनामृतको माध्यमबाट संसारसामु प्रस्तुत गर्नु थियो।
Scholarly Contributions (साहित्यिक योगदान)
He authored a landmark commentary on the Bhagavad-gita and, in 1944, single-handedly launched Back to Godhead magazine, which continues to be published around the world today.
उहाँले भगवद्गीतामाथि एउटा ऐतिहासिक टीका लेख्नुभयो र सन् १९४४ मा एक्लै प्रयासले Back to Godhead पत्रिका सुरु गर्नुभयो, जुन आज पनि विश्वभर प्रकाशित हुँदै आएको छ।
Recognition & Monastic Life (मान्यता र सन्यास जीवन)
In 1947, the Gaudiya Vaishnava Society honored him with the title "Bhaktivedanta." He later moved to the Radha Damodar temple in Vrindavan, accepted the sannyasa (renounced) order of life in 1959, and dedicated himself to translating and commenting on the Srimad Bhagavatam.
सन् १९४७ मा गौडीय वैष्णव समाजले उहाँलाई "भक्तिवेदान्त" उपाधिले सम्मानित गर्यो। पछि उहाँ वृन्दावनको राधा दामोदर मन्दिरमा बसोबास गर्नुभयो, सन् १९५९ मा सन्यास ग्रहण गर्नुभयो, र श्रीमद्भागवतमको अनुवाद तथा टीका लेखनमा आफूलाई समर्पित गर्नुभयो।
Founding of ISKCON (इस्कोनको स्थापना)
In 1965, at the age of 69 — when most people are thinking of retirement — he sailed to the United States to fulfil the mission of his spiritual master, and founded the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) in 1966.
सन् १९६५ मा, ६९ वर्षको उमेरमा — जुन उमेरमा प्रायः मानिसहरू सेवानिवृत्तिको सोचमा हुन्छन् — उहाँ आफ्ना गुरुको आदेश पूरा गर्न संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका जानुभयो, र सन् १९६६ मा अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय कृष्णभावनामृत संघ (इस्कोन) को स्थापना गर्नुभयो।
Teaching Philosophy (उपदेशको दर्शन)
Srila Prabhupada presented a non-sectarian, universal spiritual philosophy, teaching that every living being is an eternal servant of Lord Krishna — a message he shared without discrimination of nationality, religion or background, and which today guides devotees at hundreds of ISKCON centers worldwide, including ISKCON Butwal.
श्रील प्रभुपादले सम्प्रदायरहित, विश्वव्यापी आध्यात्मिक दर्शन प्रस्तुत गर्नुभयो— हरेक जीवात्मा भगवान् श्रीकृष्णको नित्य सेवक हो भन्ने शिक्षा दिनुभयो। यो सन्देश उहाँले राष्ट्रियता, धर्म वा पृष्ठभूमिको भेदभाव बिना बाँड्नुभयो, जसले आज विश्वभरका सयौं इस्कोन केन्द्र— इस्कोन बुटवल सहित— मा भक्तहरूलाई मार्गदर्शन गरिरहेको छ।
